Chrystie Hill

Chrystie Hill is a librarian, writer and consultant on technology and community building. After a short stint at the Seattle Public Library, she started It Girl Consulting in 2001. It Girl helped libraries and other organizations use online tools to create change and build communities online. In 2003 Chrystie joined WebJunction and now spends most of her time as its community services director, conferencing, blogging and chatting with our colleagues about new technologies and how to make the most of them. A frequent presenter at library meetings and conferences across the US and Canada, her articles have appeared in JASIST, Library Journal, Reference & User Services Quarterly and numerous online publications. Chrystie’s undergraduate degree is in biology and psychology; she holds an MA in history from Sarah Lawrence College, and an MLIS from the University of Washington–Seattle, where she lives with her desk and a laptop.

Chrystie’s involvement with hundreds of libraries and dozens of library organizations make her a well-known, well-traveled and well-liked presenter on issues related to building communities through libraries, Library 2.0 and, more on her home turf, WebJunction itself.
