I've just noticed that it is possible to download subject authority records from WebDewey while logged on to a Dewey-Only session. I wonder if the cost to download the authority record is the same if done this way.
There are essentially two types of WebDewey authorizations: those that include access to OCLC Cataloging/Authorities, and those that don't. Both types of authorizations can access the Dewey-Only session. The reason is the Dewey-Only session benefits both user types: everyone benefits from the longer (two hour) timeout period, as opposed to the default (40 minute) inactivity timer in OCLC Connexion.
If the authorization is truly only a WebDewey authorization (i.e., no cataloging/authorities tied to it), you won't have the option to download LCSH.
However, if the authorization covers both WebDewey and cataloging/authorities access, regardless of whether you're logged on to a Dewey-Only session, you will have the option to download LCSH and you will be billed for the export--there is no benefit in doing it either way, we just try to save you steps in your workflow.
(Those not familiar with the "Dewey-Only" session can learn about its benefits at http//www.oclc.org/dewey/enhancements/enhancement200211.htm.)
