Matt Goldner

Product and Technology Advocate

Matt Goldner

Matt Goldner joined OCLC in October 2004 and is currently the Product and Technology Advocate for the library community.

Matt graduated with an MSLS from the University of Kentucky in 1978 and an MA in religion from Asbury Theological Seminary in 1980. Prior to joining OCLC, Matt worked in both academic and public libraries with his final position being Director of Tifton-Tift Country Public Library in Tifton, Georgia. He went on to work at Geac Computers for seven years and Fretwell-Downing Informaties (FDI) for four years prior to joining OCLC. In both companies he was involved with increasing levels of responsibility for product direction and creation.

Matt’s technical and management experience makes him an especially noteworthy speaker on issues where technology meets process. He speaks on issues related to the OCLC's cataloging, resource sharing and discovery services, as well as broader topics on the future of cataloging and resource sharing, changing collections, the future of libraries and the impact of Web scale management on libraries.

We are a worldwide library cooperative, owned, governed and sustained by members since 1967. Our public purpose is a statement of commitment to each other—that we will work together to improve access to the information held in libraries around the globe, and find ways to reduce costs for libraries through collaboration.
