Welcome Karen!
That's right. Your favorite Developer Network just got a major OS upgrade: Karen Coombs has agreed to join our small but merry band of Webfolk as the product manager for the OCLC Developer Network. What does this mean for you? It means that you can look forward to even more great ideas, energy and action taking place around library Web development with the cooperative. And that you now have a knowledgeable and empowered guide to turn to, who can help you get your app/mashup/Web site to work when you're stuck. Read the full text of the announcement over on OCLC.org, but here are a few highlights: Karen Coombs joins OCLC Developer Network Team Currently a part-time Web Application Specialist for LISHost and library Web technology consultant, Ms. Coombs previously served for four years as Head of Web Services for the University of Houston Libraries in Houston, Texas. Her primary responsibilities in this newly-created role at OCLC are twofold: to help library and consumer developers make best use of OCLC's suite of Web Services, and to continue and expand OCLC's commitment to libraries' own development of services that use WorldCat data. She will maintain her blog presence at Library Web Chic, in addition to joining the OCLC Developer Network blog. Karen is ready to begin official activities with the OCLC Developer Network on 19 January 2010.
