Jenny Johnson

Jenny Johnson is Executive Director of Branding and Marketing Services for OCLC. Jenny joined OCLC in 2002, and is responsible for branding, product marketing and creative services. She is also responsible for managing the OCLC corporate Web site and all corporate communications. Jenny was also the OCLC program lead on the recent advocacy research project funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and is one of the primary authors for the report documenting that research, From Awareness to Funding: A study of library support in America, published in July 2008. She led the development of the Geek the Library community awareness campaign and was a primary author for the report documenting the results of the campaign pilot, Geek the Library: A community awareness campaign, published in January 2010.

Jenny has nearly 20 years of experience in branding, including market and user research, brand strategy and creative direction. Prior to joining OCLC, Jenny was an Associate Vice President of Brand Strategy with Fitch, Inc., a worldwide design consulting firm. Her clients included Ask Jeeves, Bank One, Maytag, Motorola, Omaha Steaks, Pizzeria Uno, Timberland and OCLC. Jenny received a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Bristol in England. She speaks primarily on topics related to library marketing and advocacy, including the most recent membership reports mentioned above.
