Associate Director and University Librarian, University of Gloucestershire
James has had the privilege to work in some incredible institutions during his career, including Oxford University, the Natural History Museum and now Gloucestershire University. As he develops as a leader, it is the opportunities to embed the library at the heart of technology, pedagogy and campus life that excites him. Library analytics has been a focus for many years and bringing together Jisc and OCLC to contribute to a collaborative learning analytics project was a significant achievement. Thirty institutions are now involved, and library data contributes to the picture of student engagement, achievement, and well-being. James has presented at ACRL, Charleston, Digifest and given the keynote at OCLC's Global User Group. James is chair of the UK OCLC WMS User Group, leading a growing community with a growing voice. His current focus is curriculum design and developing a new library building, integrated into a Gloucester city-centre regeneration project.
