Director/CEO, Worthington Libraries
Chuck Gibson is the Director/CEO of Worthington Libraries. He has over 18 years of professional library experience at senior administrative levels. He received an M.L.S. degree from Emporia State University, Emporia, Kansas and a B.S. degree in History and Government from Adams State College, Almosa, Colorado. Chuck worked at Worthington Libraries from August 1995 through May 2007, during which time Northwest Library opened (1996), Worthington Park Library was planned (2007), and several reorganizations and renovations were completed. In May 2007, he accepted the position of Director of the South Georgia Regional Library system. Under his leadership, the library achieved a 4.53% increase in funding, 263% increase in cardholders, 53% increase in circulation and 41.3% increase in computer sessions. Chuck returned to Worthington in July 2010 to accept his current position.
He was the secretary for the Ohio Library Council (OLC) Information Technology Division, an OLC Program Planning committee member, and an Instructor of Kent State SLIS Foundations of Librarianship class. He joined the Rotary in Valdosta and is now a member of the Dublin-Worthington Rotary; served on the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce board from 2001-2004; and participated in the Leadership Worthington class of 1996-1997.
