Course overview

This course provides instruction on the QuestionPoint® chat process, the basic functions and features of Chat, and the necessary browser configurations to facilitate a successful chat experience. After completing this course, learners will have the basic skills to deliver virtual reference via QuestionPoint Chat. This is the last of two courses designed to enable learners to effectively deliver basic virtual reference using QuestionPoint.


This course is intended for learners who are new to the 24/7 Reference Cooperative and providing reference service via QuestionPoint Chat. Current Chat users can benefit by using this class as a refresher to fill in foundational gaps and get updates on new functions and features.

How to use this course

OCLC's training recordings are a useful tool for understanding the functionality our products when you want the in-depth learning of an instructor-led course, but your schedule won't permit you to attend. They are also great as refreshers of past training or as preparation for upcoming instructor-led courses.
