Cynthia Whitacre

Cynthia has served in various metadata roles at OCLC since 1987.  She has been active in the American Library Association, serving in the elected role of President of ALCTS (Association of Library Collections & Technical Services, a division of ALA, now part of the Core Division) in 2010/11 along with many other committees over her career.  Cynthia currently is OCLC’s liaison to the PCC (Program for Cooperative Cataloging) serving on both the PCC Policy & Steering Committees.  Prior to coming to OCLC, Cynthia worked as a cataloger at libraries within the State University of New York system.  She holds a Masters of Library Science degree from Indiana University and is also a proud graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy, getting her start in librarianship with summer jobs in the music library there.
