New Evolving Scholarly Record and Evolving Stewardship Ecosystem workshop outcomes and opportunities
Outcomes from the Evolving Scholarly Record and the Evolving Stewardship Ecosystem Amsterdam workshop are now available. The agenda on the event page contains links to videos, slides, photos and a Storify tweet summary.
In addition, the presentations and discussions from the workshop are summarized in a series of three blog posts on hangingtogether.org:
- Evolving Scholarly Record workshop (Part 1): Introducing the framework
- Evolving Scholarly Record workshop (Part 2): Plenary discussion summaries
- Evolving Scholarly Record workshop (Part 3): Breakout discussion summaries
This workshop built on the framework presented in the OCLC Research report, The Evolving Scholarly Record. Participants explored the responsibilities of research libraries, data archives, and other stewards of research output—and identified new alliances that should be forged to create a reliable ecosystem for preserving the scholarly record and making it accessible.
Based on the success of the Amsterdam workshop, we've launched an Evolving Scholarly Record workshop series that currently features three upcoming workshops. The Washington DC workshop on 10 December 2014 is full, but registration is open for the Chicago workshop on 23 March 2015 and the San Francisco workshop on 2 June 2015.
Anyone with a mission for collecting, making available, and preserving the scholarly record is invited to attend. Seating is limited so register at one of the location links above to secure your spot at the workshop of your choice.
