Commission a White Paper that Provides an Annotated Inventory of Library Data Sources Project

Background

The value leveraged from data mining is often directly proportional to the number of institutions, collections, individuals, etc., over which the data is collected; the larger the aggregation, the wider and richer the context against which decision-making can be placed; issues can be characterized and understood; and patterns can be discerned and extrapolated. Accordingly, work in the Management Intelligence Program will focus on aggregations of data.

In this project, we will commission a white paper that provides an annotated inventory of library data sources, supplemented with commentary on current status of data aggregation, and/or challenges we face in aggregating; and list of questions that currently cannot be answered by existing data aggregations.
