Register for 5 May webinar on strategies for building community partnerships

Join us for the 5 May webinar “We can’t go it alone: Community-centered collaborations during COVID-19.” Libraries, archives, and museums have adapted their facilities, services, and programs in response to community needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many found that building collaborative networks among museums, libraries, and other local organizations helped manage uncertainty and strengthen capacity.

Panelists from a variety of cultural heritage institutions will share their experiences with local, state, and national partnerships and networks during the COVID-19 pandemic and highlight successful strategies that can help you lead staff and public during a crisis.

COVID research simulating virus on common library, museum materials published in Journal of Applied Microbiology

When libraries, archives, and museums were seeking reliable information to help them make informed decisions about how to operate amid the COVID-19 pandemic, OCLC, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, and Battelle formed a partnership to help. Results of the REALM project’s COVID-19 research simulating virus on common library, archive, and museum materials have now been published in Journal of Applied Microbiology. These findings showed that inactivation of SARS-CoV-2 is possible using prescribed environmental conditions and is a potential method of decontamination for items not compatible with common liquid disinfectants.
