Vaccines, variants, and ventilation research briefing
An updated briefing, prepared by Battelle, summarizes research available on vaccines, variants, and ventilation. Among the new findings:
- Ventilation: A study found that increasing the air change rate decreased infection risk more than increasing the humidity in a space.
- Variants: With recent studies highlighting the rapid spread and infectivity of the B.1.617.2 (Delta) variant, researchers suggest that prevention strategies such as wearing masks indoors should be employed regardless of individuals’ vaccination status.
- Vaccines: Adolescents reported that they are interested in getting the vaccine but have concerns about possible adverse effects.
