Dr. Annette Demmel is partner at Squire Patton Boggs in Berlin. She heads the German Data Protection and Cyber Security team and is also a certified lawyer for information technology (Fachanwältin für Informationstechnologierecht) and copyright and media (Fachanwältin für Urheber- und Medienrecht). Dr. Demmel advises national and international businesses in privacy, technology and telecommunications law. She frequently leads the implementation of privacy compliance programs and centralised software systems for multinational companies and provides advice on policy and regulatory issues arising in the electronic communications and internet sectors. Further she advises on legal issues relating to profiling and online marketing business models.

Julie Presas became General Counsel and Vice President of Legal Services in March 2014. She oversees the corporate legal function at OCLC including privacy compliance and the provisioning of legal support throughout the global organisation. As Secretary for the corporation, she also serves as advisor to company officers and the OCLC Board of Trustees. Prior to joining OCLC, she was General Counsel for Fiber Network Solutions, Inc., a tier one Internet service provider for businesses in the United States. Julie’s outside activities include serving on the board of a local non-profit organisation and providing pro-bono services through the Columbus Legal Aid Society Adult Shelter Assistance Project.

Skip Prichard became the fifth President and Chief Executive Officer of OCLC in July 2013. Before joining OCLC, Skip served as President and CEO of Ingram Content Group Inc., as well as President and CEO of ProQuest Information and Learning. He has also held a number of executive positions with LexisNexis. Among Skip's many passions is his Leadership Insights blog, and, he is a frequent key note speaker at conferences around the world. Skip received his Bachelor of Science degree from Townson State University and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law.

Mary Sauer-Games joined OCLC in September 2014 as Vice President of Product Management.
She came to OCLC from the American Psychological Association, where she was Senior Director, managing PsycINFO database products and leading an organization of 70 staff. From 2002 to February 2014, she was Vice President, Product Management–Humanities, STM and Dissertations at ProQuest, a leading global information provider. Before that, from 1999 through 2002, she was Vice President, Product Management, at the Gale Group, a major reference and education publisher of electronic databases and textbooks. She also previously held positions at Mullen Advertising, R. L. Polk and Company, and Data Resources, Inc., all in Detroit, Michigan.
An active participant in publishing and information technology communities, Mary has served on boards with the National Federation of Advanced Information Services (NFAIS) and CrossRef. She has also been active on a regional board of the March of Dimes.
Mary holds a Master’s of Business Administration degree from University of Michigan–Dearborn and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Kalamazoo College.

Peter is the University Librarian at The University of Hong Kong Libraries (HKU). In this position, Peter has full responsibility for directing all aspects of the HKU Libraries’ system, including its policy formulation, planning, budgeting and development processes. He is a Director on the Board of Directors of CLOCKSS and the current President of the Hong Kong Library Association (HKLA). Prior to his current life in Hong Kong, Peter spent almost 20 years working in various capacities in university libraries in Australia including the University of Newcastle, the University of New South Wales and the University of Sydney.

Tuba Akbaytürk Çanak has been serving as Koç University Library Director since 2011. Within the scope of her position, Tuba manages 5 libraries in 3 different cities in Turkey. Budget management, Collection development, e-resources management, library automation, resource sharing, digitisation and user services are some of the areas she is responsible for. Tuba who was the Anatolian University Libraries Consortium (ANKOS) Steering Committee Member responsible for negotiations since 2012, now serves as ANKOS President for the term of 2016 - 2018. Tuba earned her BS from Boğaziçi University in Molecular Biology and Genetics and her MLS from Indiana University.

Benson Ali, the Library Director of the American University of Nigeria, (AUN) Yola, is a graduate of the University of Maiduguri and MLS degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He has served as a Polytechnic Librarian and Director to the Adamawa State Library Board, before going to AUN at its inception in 2005. Reinhard Altenhöner (* 1963), acts as a Deputy General Director of the State Library Berlin / Prussian Heritage. The focus of its activities comprises digital services and the process reorganisation with special regard to (meta)data management, digital archiving and strategic process management. Until 2015, he was responsible for the „Information Infrastructure and Preservation“ department in the Deutsche Nationalbibliothek (DNB), the national library of Germany. He is member in different boards and scientific steering committees and he periodically publishes on different topics.

Dr. Jan-Pieter Barbian
Director, Stadtbibliothek Duisburg
Dr. Jan-Pieter Barbian worked as a Researcher of Contemporary History at the University of Trier, later becoming the Head of the Cultural Department at People’s High School in Duisburg. Since 1999, he has been the Director of the Public Library of Duisburg, which is the most used cultural and education facility in the town. It operates as a centre for media, information and education in various forms of further learning, in cultural education, in the solving of employment policy and asserting in a labour market, in supporting the social integration of migrants and refugees. In September/October 2009, he worked with a grant from the Goethe-Institute as a “Librarian in Residence” in New York and Washington, D.C. He authored and processed several monographies and published many articles in periodicals about the modernisation of Public Libraries, cultural education for teens, political lobbying and fundraising.

Inge Heslinga (MA) is an Information Specialist/Subject Librarian at Tresoar. With a degree in Frisian Literature, she is responsible for the acquisition of private (literary) archives, but she’s also cooperating in a variety of digitisation projects. She is now working on the implementation of the crowdsourcing tool Fryske Hannen, an online platform for enriching Frisian heritage with metadata by seeking the help from (anonymous) communities.

Program Manager, Innovation, BiSC Utrecht
Ronald Huizer was born in Utrecht and proudly works in the public library industry. Libraries are important for him, because he has learnt so much and discovered whole new worlds in the library, especially in music - long before Spotify. As a Program Manager, he has been working on innovation and development in the telecom, education, labour union and public library industries. Currently, he is working at BiSC (Utrecht) on the new ICT infrastructure for libraries that will enable them to move forward to new library services, for instance, basic cultural skills, digital skills and community building.

20 years ago, Carmen Hüning’s first task as a librarian was the implementation of the library system SISIS SE at the Library of Münster University of Applied Sciences. Today, she is managing the current version of this SISIS product line used at the library. Mijke Jetten (1978) has a leading role in setting up a service desk for research data management support at Radboud University, the Netherlands. As a result, the University Library guides researchers through all phases of the data life cycle. She also contributes to transforming the local CRIS into a one-stop-shop for researchers to archive research data as well. Additionally, Mijke is completing her PhD on interreligious adult education between Christians and Muslims.

Axel Kaschte oversees the OCLC product management of legacy library management systems and EMEA-related product management tasks, to enable the transition of the library community to next-generation library services within the web paradigm. From 2009 to 2013, he joined Ex Libris as Strategy Director Europe where he was deeply involved in defining and presenting the new strategy of unified library automation and cloud solutions.

From December 2013 until December 2016, Simone Kortekaas was the Project Manager for the transition of the UKB Consortium (Dutch University Libraries and the Royal Library) from a national library infrastructure to the OCLC WorldShare® Platform. She works as Head of Department for Collection and Information Management at Wageningen University & Research – Library. Simone has experience in leadership roles in several Dutch libraries. She has a broad background in the library field, back office as well as front office, library automation and ICT as well as managerial skills.
Data Manager, Tresoar
Hans Laagland (BA) is Data Manager at Tresoar. He is the intermediary between IT and the collection. He is responsible for the intellectual data management: standardising data, making data available as open data, and making data available for internet information infrastructures (e.g. Wikipedia/ DBpedia). As a member of the Workgroup Redbot (connecting data of Frisian heritage institutes), Hans Laagland is working on implementing the technique of linked data.

Veronqie Lecat was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Canada. After graduating with her MLIS from McGill University, she worked at the Library of the Canadian Museum of History and the Library of Parliament. She moved Sharjah, United Arab Emirates in 2014, when she became the Catalouging and Metadata Librarian at the American University of Sharjah, where she has played an important role in their recent migration to WorldShare® Management Services (WMS).

Scott Livingston is currently an Executive Director at OCLC where he leads the Product Management team for Library Management Services. He also leads OCLC’s product operations and market segment strategy team. Prior to joining OCLC, Scott was Senior Vice President at Cision and was responsible for global product planning and marketing as well as US public relations, specialised sales and customer service operations. Previously, Scott was Vice President at LexisNexis Group and headed the public records solutions for legal professionals division. He also served in a variety of executive management roles related to legal news publishing and book publishing. He also was the Vice President - Strategy & Operations at ProQuest. Scott began his career as an academic law librarian. He has extensive experience in big data, taxonomies, business development, strategic planning (with a particular emphasis on turn around strategies), acquisition integration, social media and publishing.

Rick Lugg has worked with academic libraries since 1983. As a consultant and vendor, he has written approval plans, streamlined workflows, evaluated collections, and designed library-friendly products and services. He holds an MLS from Simmons College. In 2007, Rick saw a growing need to evaluate monographs collections, using data to inform retention, storage, and withdrawal decisions, for both individual libraries and shared print projects. He and his partners founded Sustainable Collection Services in 2011 to build a decision-support system for managing monographs. Building on a successful data partnership, SCS was acquired by OCLC in 2015. In his current role as Executive Director of SCS/OCLC, Rick speaks and writes frequently on deselection and shared print.

Amada Marcos is the Head Librarian of the IE Business School and IE University at the Instituto de Empresa (IE) of Spain in Madrid and Segovia, and has held that position since 2006, combining it with her academic duties as a Professor of Information Technologies and Systems in the IE. She has worked on IE for many years, and prior to her tenure in the Instituto, she held several positions there for more than two decades. These positions included Library Specialist on Information in the Academic and Marketing departments.

Arend Middelveld has spent his whole career as librarian in Groningen. And always at Biblionet Groningen. He has been a member of the board since 2005, and Chairman since 2012. His present main goal is the transition of Biblionet from a traditional public lending library to a library as a partner in personal development (enhancing skills) of citizens. The task is doing this in a rural and agricultural environment of nearly 2500 km2 (the province of Groningen).
