Library Director, Rio Rancho Public Library

Lynette Schurdevin

Lynette Schurdevin has been involved in working with Public Libraries over the past eighteen years. She has a Master's Degree from Texas Woman's University and specialized in public library management and supervision. Ms. Schurdevin has been an active member of state library associations throughout her career and currently holds the past president of the New Mexico Library Association. In 2019, she received the New Mexico Library Association Leadership award. Ms. Schurdevin is a Minnesota native who changed careers after twenty years in banking to librarianship and has progressed from a circulation supervisor to a library director. She believes her second career has realized her life's passion of bringing lifelong learning to the Rio Rancho community. Ms. Schurdevin became interested in OCLC while working in Minnesota at the Lake Agassiz Regional Library where she supervised the inter-library loan department. She continues to value the vast collections available for search in WorldCat that allows librarians to meet the reading needs of library patrons.
