Earl Givens, Jr.

Earl Givens, Jr. is the Interim Vice Provost, Dean of Learning Resources, and Special Assistant to the President at Catawba College Library. As the Vice Provost and Special Assistant, Earl oversees all enrollment management and leads organizational development campus-wide. As Dean, he leads the library as the emerging technology hub where sustainability, innovation, and research meet.  Always on the cutting edge of technology, he is involved in library projects that push the envelope in academic libraries. Earl is committed to transforming the face of the library by integrating traditional library practices with contemporary sustainable technology. Earl received his M.L.S. from Emporia State University with an emphasis in library technology. Earl is a leadership development coach and works with nonprofit organizations outside the library. He enjoys gaming, playing golf, boxing, jazz piano, and family in his spare time.
