OCLC receives Diversity in Business Award
Award recognizes inclusive organizations in Central Ohio
DUBLIN, Ohio, 9 August 2019—OCLC, the nonprofit technology organization and global library cooperative based in Dublin, has received a Diversity in Business Award representing large organizations in Central Ohio.
The awards program, administered by Columbus Business First, recognizes inclusive organizations and individuals in Central Ohio. The program highlights excellence in encouraging diversity in age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, race and religion at local workplaces.
OCLC provides shared technology services, original research and community programs to libraries worldwide. OCLC and member libraries cooperatively produce and maintain WorldCat, the most comprehensive global network of data about library collections and services.
"We place tremendous value in diversity and inclusion at OCLC," said Skip Prichard, OCLC President and CEO. "We know that our organization creates better services for libraries when we involve staff with diverse backgrounds and perspectives in the process. We are always striving to create an equitable and inclusive environment. We are thrilled and honored to be recognized with this award."
Honorees were selected by a group of outside judges recruited by Business First, based on applications submitted by nominated people and organizations.
More about the Awards program and a full list of honorees are on the Business First website.
