DUBLIN, Ohio, 16 March 2015—OCLC has been named among the "Healthiest Employers" in Central Ohio for the second consecutive year. The nonprofit computer library service and research organization was recognized by the Healthiest Employers Awards Program, and was ranked fourth out of 10 finalists in the large company category.
Based in Dublin, Ohio, OCLC provides research and technology services to thousands of libraries around the world. OCLC and its member libraries cooperatively produce and maintain WorldCat, the world's largest online database for discovery of library materials.
"OCLC's greatest asset is our associates. One way we invest in our associates is by offering a comprehensive benefits and wellness program," said Skip Prichard, OCLC President and CEO. "Nothing is more important than our health. We appreciate this award and consider it an endorsement of the value our staff places in these programs. We will continue to support a culture that promotes wellness and a healthy work environment for all OCLC staff."
The Healthiest Employers Awards Program is organized by Columbus Business First in partnership with Healthiest Employer LLC, a privately held data research company in Indianapolis. The program is intended to identify companies in the region that go the extra mile to create an environment for workers to be active, fit and healthy.
Earlier this year, OCLC was recognized with the Healthy Ohio Healthy Worksite Award, presented to Ohio employers who demonstrate commitment to employee health through comprehensive worksite health promotion and wellness programs.
OCLC's wellness program offers a wide variety of programs, financial rewards and incentives. These include on-site biometric screenings, telephonic and on-site health coaching, a health and well-being library and an on-site fitness center that offers basketball, racquetball and sand volleyball courts.
