Julie Presas named OCLC General Counsel and Vice President of Legal Services

DUBLIN, Ohio, 3 March 2014—Julie Presas has been promoted to General Counsel and Vice President of Legal Services of OCLC, the Dublin-based library cooperative that provides services and research to libraries worldwide.

Ms. Presas has been Assistant General Counsel since 2009, and has been with OCLC since 2001. Prior to joining OCLC, she was General Counsel for Fiber Network Solutions, Inc., a tier one network provider for businesses in the Midwest region of the United States.

She serves on the boards of two local non-profit organizations, the Short North Stage and Besa Community. She also provides pro-bono services through the Columbus Legal Aid Society Adult Shelter Assistance Project.

Ms. Presas earned her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and her J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law.

"Julie’s skill as an attorney and her commitment to libraries and the OCLC membership will serve her well in this leadership role," said Skip Prichard, OCLC President and CEO.

Ms. Presas follows Jim Houfek, who retired effective March 1 as OCLC Vice President and General Counsel after 21 years of service to the cooperative.
