Fiona Parsons

Fiona is Director of Academic Support at the University of Wolverhampton, where her key responsibilities are Library services, IT services, e-learning, learning technologies, academic staff development and accreditation. Fiona joined the University of Wolverhampton in 2007, after a career spanning library services in the public and academic library sectors. Fiona served as Library Director at Wolverhampton for five years before taking up her current post in 2013. She has served on a number of national committees and steering groups, including the SCONUL Executive board, which she chaired from 2010–12, the RLUK/JISC Resource Discovery Task Force, the Knowledge Base + Board, and the Mercian Collaboration. Fiona has a long-standing interest in both library and learning technologies, and in the part which technology plays in enhancing learning opportunities. She has led a number of programmes in this arena and is currently Director of the Digital Transformation programme at the University of Wolverhampton

Fiona Parsons has held a variety of posts in Education: Secondary School Teacher Children's Librarian Lecturer, Subject Librarian, Assistant Director of IS and Director. She joined the University of Wolverhampton as Director of Learning and Information Services in January 2007 after seven years as Assistant Director of Information Services at the University of Birmingham. She was appointed Director of Academic Support in October 2013.
