Head of the Reutlingen City Library, Library of Reutlingen
Since July 2016 Beate Meinck has been in charge of the Reutlingen City Library, a large city system with 10 branches and approx. 60 employees in the south of Germany. She learned her profession "from scratch", after her Abitur in 1995 first in the training as a library assistant in the Tuttlingen City Library. Then in 1997 she studied "Public Librarianship" at the HBI (now HdM) in Stuttgart. Her first position led her to the community library Denkendorf. From 2006 to 2016 she was resonsible for the City Library in Ditzingen. In 2013, the Ditzingen City Library was certified as an "Excellent Library". From 2010 to 2016, she was a member of the German Library Association and was state representative of section 3b for Baden-Württemberg. Since 2017 she has been a member of the advisory board of the library and information management courses at the HdM, Stuttgart.
