Americas Regional Council
Chief, Materials Management, Free Library of Philadelphia
Jen came to the Free Library to be a teen librarian in West Philadelphia (and still gets the Fresh Prince song stuck in her head whenever she writes that). She then moved into the Information Technology unit to work on the Library’s website, where she became intimately acquainted with all the electronic resources and databases the Library offers. From there, she became the Library’s first Electronic Resources Coordinator, responsible for all Library contracts and the setup of new vendor services. Jen subsequently joined management as Assistant Chief of Materials Management and Special Projects Director in IT (and got to manage the Library’s TEDx program). Jen currently sits on the Free Library’s Executive Staff as Chief of Materials Management and represents the Library statewide as the District Library Consultant for Philadelphia. She is an active member of the American Library Association’s Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Round Table (soon to be called the Rainbow Round Table), having stepped down from her run as Past Chair of the Round Table in June 2019. She is extremely excited to work with her global colleagues and OCLC on expanding accessibility to information for all of our communities.
