Jaesun Lee

For 30 years as a leader, Jaesun has gained valuable experiences while working in the Acquisition and Technical Processing Division, Digital Library Division, and Korean Library & Information Research Institute, and doing work related to librarian training, and international cooperation and public relations at the National Library of Korea. During 2013-2015, she contributed to planning and implementing the 2nd Library Development Grand Plan of Korea as Director of the Library Policy Division at the Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism, and actively supported the Presidential Committee on Library and Information Policy. Jaesun received a master’s degree in Library and Information Science from Cheongju University, and has completed coursework for a doctoral degree at Yonsei University.

She has contributed to make the Korean Cataloging Rules (4th ed.) in the Korean Library Association (KLA) and has developed the KORMARC (integrated bibliographic format) and delivered lectures for librarian training programs. In terms of regional cooperation, she was in charge of beginning a librarian exchange program, which has been running since 1997, with the National Library of China and the National Diet Library, and launching the China, Japan, Korea and Digital Library Initiative in 2010. As a member of IFLA, she coordinated the 4th IFLA Meeting of Experts on an International Cataloguing Code (IME ICC4) and supported the WLIC Seoul in 2006, and contributed ISBD Full Examples and ISBD consolidated edition. Jaesun organized the IFLA National Information and Library Policy Special Interest Group and continuously supported its meetings since 2011, and participated in the IFLA Asia-Oceania Section from 2011-2015.
