Robert Gerrity is the University Librarian of Monash University Library in Melbourne, Australia. Before his appointment at Monash in 2018, He was the University Librarian at the University of Queensland from 2012 to 2017. For 19 years before that, he was in technology leadership positions at the Boston Public Library and Boston College Libraries.

Mr. Gerrity's expertise includes building conducive learning and research environments, enhancing the relevance and discovery of resources, building staff capability, and ensuring the delivery of enriching public programs and outreach. Mr. Gerrity is interested in the application of current and emerging technologies to ensure that library collections, spaces, and services remain relevant in the digital environment and deliver the greatest possible benefit to students, academics, and researchers.

He is a past board member of the Council of Australasian University Librarians (CAUL), and was program director for CAUL's Procurement Program from 2019 through 2023. He received CAUL's Distinguished Service Award in 2023 for his work advancing open access. He currently chairs the Group of 8 University Librarians Committee and sits on several advisory boards. Mr. Gerrity has served on Leaders Council since 2025.
