OCLC Resource Sharing User Group Meeting
Join your ILL colleagues and OCLC staff online at OCLC’s virtual Resource Sharing User Group Meeting.
Tips to start the new year off right! Join your ILL colleagues and OCLC staff online at OCLC’s virtual Resource Sharing User Group Meeting. This meeting will consist of short, 20-minute presentations followed by online discussions, join us to engage with your colleagues, share your experiences, and ask questions.
First, Ron Figueroa of Syracuse University, Travis Goode of the University of Texas at Dallas, and Dennis Massie of OCLC Research will discuss how to make ILL materials accessible. They will focus on three aspects:
- Sharing information from a resources document on accessibility that SHARES* is developing, which will be freely available in the new year.
- Explaining the recent SHARES efforts to craft specific text on accessibility that were submitted as seven separate suggested revisions of the US ILL Code.
- Showing the customizations of Syracuse’s ILLiad Web forms for accessibility.
Next, Tony Melvyn from the OCLC Resource Sharing Team will help you to ensure your library’s ILL team is off to a good start for the new year. He’ll cover key steps you can take to optimize your ILL services for 2022, including key resources you’ll want to take advantage of. Also, he’ll review and solicit your feedback on the ACOV/BCOV/CCOV profiled groups and aging of problem requests, which have been in use during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Finally, you’ll hear about events coming in 2022 including Product Insights, an International ILL Toolkit webinar, the Resource Sharing Conference virtual web series, and an ILL 101 course.
