This event has passed.
OCLC invites library leaders and ILL professionals to Sydney, New South Wales to participate in the 2019 OCLC Research & Resource Sharing Forum. This new interpretation of past events will kick off with a high-level discussion of recent OCLC Research work, highlighting trends and strategic challenges. You will hear from industry leaders, and OCLC will present a strategic update on products and services. The afternoon will be broken out into two tracks, one focusing on OCLC ILL products and services, the other on OCLC Research & the Research Library Partnership (RLP).
The Resource Sharing session will consist of member presentations and round table discussions, including a presentation on the Te Puna WorldShare ILL experience. The session will finish with the OIUGANZ AGM. Please note: the AGM can only be attended by nominated representatives. All Tipasa, WorldShare ILL, VDX and Relais users can attend the presentations.
Sessions included in the OCLC Research & Research Library Partnership (RLP) track:
The Realities of Research Data Management, Rebecca Bryant, Senior Program Officer
Senior Program Officer Rebecca Bryant will present on recent OCLC Research related to research data management practices, particularly the Realities of Research Data Management report series. She will also incorporate recent findings from the Practices and Patterns in Research Information Management report, with a particular focus on ANZ practices and distinctions.
Facilitated Discussions on Research Support Services
OCLC RLP Program Officers Rebecca Bryant and Dennis Massie will facilitate action-oriented discussions about issues related to research data management and research support using structured activities designed to harness our collective intelligence, while simultaneously offering rich relationship-building opportunities. Discussion topics will be seeded by participants. We expect participants will leave with a clearer understanding of the challenges discussed, and concrete actions to move them forward.
Celebrate our strong community of ILL librarians and 40 years of OCLC interlibrary loan services. You'll find ways to improve operational efficiency, save time, and better connect end users to the information they need. It's a unique opportunity to interact with a very knowledgeable community of ILL professionals.
This event is free of charge, but registration is required.
