WorldShare APIs and SSL3

On September 10, OCLC disabled access to via the SSL3 protocol. This change did not impact access to via web browsers, but it has affected some community applications that call WorldShare APIs via SSL3.

If your application calls any WorldShare APIs explicitly via SSL3, these calls will no longer work. You will need to update your application to use a supported protocol, such as TLS1.2. Many HTTP client libraries will have automatically made this change unless specifically configured to use SSL3.

This change affected the University of New Mexico’s label printing application, but the code on GitHub has now been fixed. Here is a direct link to the details of the fix.

We apologize for the late notice of this change. Please feel free to contact with any questions.
