DEVCONNECT 2018: Code Work Ahead!

Online conference for library developers

An important message about DEVCONNECT. Please read.

Based on feedback from the community, OCLC has decided to reinvent DEVCONNECT. We will not be holding an in-person conference at OCLC’s headquarters June 4-6. Instead, we will publish workshop content online later this year.

We heard from a number of developers who liked the programming content and the coding workshop format. However, many also said that they didn’t have the time and/or travel budget to attend the conference in person.

Once these considerations came into focus, the decision to recast DEVCONNECT was clear. By moving online, we'll reach more members of the community, save developers time, and save library money.

We have a lot of material to cover with the library development community, with releases of OCLC APIs, including the Identity Management API and Tipasa API; sharing new projects out of OCLC Research; and collaborating with leaders in the library space, such as Terry Reese and Jason Ronallo*, on ways to improve service to library staff and patrons. We look forward to sharing this all with you in an online format to make it accessible to the broader community.

Watch this space for details on when/where/how we'll share this content. We'll post this information as soon as we can.

For those interested in the IIIF API, Jason already makes his workshop materials available online.
