The advanced search allows you to construct more complex searches by entering keywords for multiple categories and limiting your results by format (such as "only books"), date of publication/release, subject content, audience, and/or language.
You access the advanced search from these screens:

To perform an advanced search:

You can limit your advanced search results by:

| Library | Items owned by selected groups within the overall group |
| Format | Items in the specified format Note: If you select the Article format, a Journal/Magazine: field is automatically added to the upper half of the Advanced Search screen. You can enter a publication's title to limit your results to that publication.

| Publication Date | Items published in a certain date range (whole years only) |
| Content | Items with the content specified |
| Audience | Items for the audience specified |
| Language | Items in the language specified |
