Basic information

The top if the Detailed Record screen presents information for one or more of the following. The information displayed depends on the individual item and its source; some information may itself be linked.

  Description
Title Title of the item.
Type Includes (where available): Format, Content, Audience, Language. See also Refining a Search.
Publication
(articles only)
Name of the periodical which published the article, and the date and number of the issue in which the article appeared.
Publisher Includes city of publication, publisher name, publication date.
Editions Edition of a specific item. May include links to other editions.
Database Name of a database that has indexed the article.
Other Databases Additional databases that have indexed the article.
ISBN, ISSN ISBNs and ISSNs are internationally recognized standard numbers used to identify a particular item. A 10 or 13-digit ISBN is assigned to books, and an 8-digit ISSN is assigned to a print or electronic serial publication (often referred to as "periodicals") such as a magazine or scholarly journal. Multiple ISBNs may be shown.
BL Shelfmark Indicates the physical location of an item in the British Library (London).
OCLC An OCLC Number is the identifier assigned to an item when it is first cataloged by a WorldCat member library.
