Course description

This workshop presents a high-level introduction to the current standards for electronic holdings records (Z39.71 and MARC Holdings).  It then gives an in-depth review of the general principles and concepts of the standards, demonstrating how they work in partnership with each other to create a standardized holdings record that can be used by a wide variety of library systems, union lists, and OCLC's WorldCat database.
