Local Holdings Foundations.  OCLC Western also highly recommends that the trainee take the SCCTP Serials Holdings workshop.

Course description

This workshop takes a scenario-based approach and walks trainees through the necessary navigation and editing techniques needed to add, edit, or delete Local Holdings Records (LHRs) for basic and complex serials as well as non-serials.  Topics included are evaluation techniques for selecting the best bibliographic record to link the local holdings record to, and how to select the best peer local holdings record to derive the library's local holdings record. The workshop also explores how to create high-quality Local Holdings Records (LHRs) by making use of such techniques as constant data and publication patterns. There are frequent discussions interspersed throughout the workshop, and trainee participation is encouraged!
