Connexion 102 - Building Efficiencies with Connexion Client

Course description

This live, in-person workshop is designed to help catalogers and technical service staff use Connexion Client to build workflow and cooperative level efficiencies.  Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to effectively manage files and saved records, use Connexion’s automation tools, and make changes to master records on the WorldCat database.

This face-to-face class includes supervised exercises to build and practice skills with the Client interface

  • Using the save file to increase efficiency
  • Fixing errors in the save file
  • Working with “Workflow Status” and “My Status”
  • Creating and using “constant data”

  • Creating custom keystroke commands
  • Creating basic macros in Connexion
  • Reporting errors and duplicates to OCLC quality control
  • Procedures for upgrading less-than-full-level records
  • Procedures for enriching records
  • Subscription credits available for quality improvement actions
  • Rules for upgrading and enriching records
  • Programs available for increasing quality control authority
