Course description
This workshop is a Washington State clock hour offering for school personnel.
This workshop introduces trainees to MARC records - their history, structure, and application to library functions. The overall focus of the workshop is on interpreting MARC records of all types by understanding their basic functions and their basic structural elements (e.g. tags, indicators, subfields). In-depth MARC tagging is covered in other, format-specific workshops.
Credits and Grants for Washington Library Staff This workshop is a Washington State clock hour offering for school personnel. Continuing education grants may be available through Washington State Library. Grant application deadline is 30 days prior to the workshop.
