Consider these valuable eContent resources for your year-end monies

OCLC Western libraries have quality databases available to them at discounted group rates, thanks to highly respected publishers from a variety of academic and cultural disciplines.  A number of these providers have recently added discounts to new products, so now is a great time to consider these databases for your year-end monies.

Now through the end of May, please contact us for price quotes and/or free 30-day trials. Our online request form lets you submit price quote and/or free trial requests for as many or as few products – from as many or as few eContent providers – as you’d like. (Due to the amount of requests we will process, please allow two weeks to receive the quotes, though ‘rush’ requests can be accommodated, if necessary.)

To obtain more information about our eContent providers and their databases, please visit our eContent partners page, or for more information about pricing and free trials, please contact Mike Pruzan at 1-800-854-5753.

Reader’s Advisor Online is offering a special discount to new subscribers

The Reader's Advisor Online is an easy and effective tool for librarians who work with readers looking for something new to read. It gives users multiple ways to browse and access titles in a friendly, conversational tone: genre, subgenre, reading interests, subjects/topics/themes, appeal features, character, location, author, title, and series title.

Reader's Advisor Online is published by Libraries Unlimited (a member of the Greenwood Publishing Group) and is not available elsewhere. It includes all the volumes in Libraries Unlimited's well-known Genreflecting series, and contains selected essays from The Readers' Advisor's Companion and Nonfiction Readers' Advisory, and more.

And through June 30, an additional 25% discount on Reader's Advisor Online is being offered to new public library subscribers.  For more information about pricing and free trials, please contact Mike Pruzan at 1-800-854-5753.

The power of more than 1,900 member libraries

eContent and electronic resources are a fact of life for library users and reference librarians alike. Selecting appropriate resources can be a daunting task—especially when publishers change their offerings every year.

OCLC Western Service Center uses the negotiating power of its 1900+ member libraries and cultural heritage organizations to obtain consortia discounts on eBooks, eAudiobooks and reference databases. When you purchase eContent and databases through OCLC Western in the cooperative model, you save time and money because we are able to broker special discounts exclusively to OCLC Western members.

Free trials

So you can review content and determine which database best suits your needs, OCLC Western offers free 30-day trials on most databases. To start your free trial, select the partner or database you're interested in, then click on the Free Trials/Ordering tab and fill out the required information.

How to order eContent from OCLC Western

To order, simply select the partner or database you're interested in, then click on the Free Trials/Ordering tab and fill out the required information.

There is some information that you'll need to know before ordering, and while each eContent partner or database requires slightly different information, the following generally applies: academic libraries may need to know how many FTEs they have and public libraries will likely be asked for average circulation statistics.

Once you have submitted your order, an OCLC Western staff member will contact you to discuss next steps.
