Product support : Implementation Services

Implementation Services

OCLC provides Implementation Services for several of its products.  The goal of the Implementation Services Team is to help libraries successfully adopt OCLC products and services by assisting them in three main areas:

  • Training
  • Project management
  • Configuration support

WorldCat Local

WorldCat Local subscribers will be guided through the implementation process by an OCLC Implementation Manager, who will familiarize library staff with WorldCat Local and help them determine how best to configure their WorldCat Local to reflect  local policies and workflows.

QuestionPoint

As a new QuestionPoint subscriber, you are assigned a dedicated and experienced implementation manager, who provides training, project management, and support to move your virtual reference project along quickly and efficiently.  Your manager also helps to ensure that QuestionPoint is integrated closely with your reference department’s workflows and operating procedures.

As part of QuestionPoint Implementation Services, you also receive:

  • Proven best practices, tools, and resources
  • A customized implementation plan
  • A communication plan to help promote and roll out QuestionPoint to your users

ILLiad

ILLiad subscribers can get a dedicated, experienced implementation manager who will lead you step-by-step through your ILLiad project.  The manager will help you to set milestones, define key tasks and determine workflow impacts. If any technical issues should arise during the project, the manager will coordinate with the appropriate technical support staff to resolve the matter.

As part of the Implementation Services, you’ll also receive:

  • Proven best practices, tools and resources to help you implement and use ILLiad effectively. We bring the experience gained from previous successful ILLiad projects.
  • An implementation plan based on your library’s unique goals and objectives. We also consider:
    • The ILLiad components your library plans to implement (e.g., borrowing, lending, document delivery, copyright clearance, etc.).
    • The experience and availability of your staff. We’ll base schedules and activities on your particular needs.
  • Personal learning plans that analyze skill gaps, identify available resources and help your library staff become more proficient with ILLiad.
