Event overviewPamela Bailey, Executive Director, OCLC U.S. Service Center, will welcome attendees and give an update on OCLC’s new Support and Training programs. Lynne Siemers, Director, Library & Media Services, Washington Hospital Center, William B. Glew, MD, Health Sciences Library, will share the latest on the new models of direct participation and membership in OCLC. Michael Edson, Director, Web and New Media Strategy at the Smithsonian Institution, will give an update on Smithsonian Commons and share his latest thinking about opportunities on the Web. You will also learn how your colleagues are using WorldCat.org and WorldCat Local to improve their users’ experiences on the Web. Panelists on this topic include Kari Schmidt, Electronic Resources Librarian and Head of the Electronic Resources Management Unit at American University Library, and Oleg Kreymer, Systems Librarian for Thomas J. Watson Library of The Metropolitan Museum of Art. After a buffet lunch, we’ll have a lively discussion via our OCLC Member Roundtables.
