Extend your cataloging with add-on services

Additional cataloging-related functionality can be added to Connexion.

Current add-on services include Accessions List, Bibliographic Record Notification, Cataloging Label Program, Dewey services, Dewey Cutter program, Digital Archive, eSerials Holdings, Local Holdings Maintenance, PromptCat, WorldCat Cataloging Partners, Terminologies Services and WorldCat Selection.

Receive a list of recently cataloged acquisitions in electronic format to increase your library's visibility.

Bibliographic Record Notification

Reduce your catalog maintenance by automatically receiving upgraded catalog records. Records upgraded from minimal to full level, that have TOC added or enhanced, or that match other customizable criteria can be delivered to your library.

Cataloging Label Program

Print cataloging labels directly from bibliographic records displayed in the Connexion browser using OCLC's Cataloging Label Program. The program lets you edit labels; specify print constants, ranges and copy numbers; and print multiple copies. You can also save labels for printing at a later time. The program supports printing to pin feed or laser stock.

Dewey services

Connexion provides the power of Dewey through the Web as an add-on service. This option gives you access to an enhanced version of the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC22) database or to the 14th abridged edition of the DDC database.

Dewey Cutter program

This Windows application is used with Connexion browser to automatically provide cutter numbers from the OCLC Four-Figure Cutter Tables (Cutter Four-Figure Table and Cutter-Sanborn Four-Figure Table) upon input of text. The program is similar to the Dewey Cutter macro that is used with Connexion client.

Digital Archive

Connexion also allows you to catalog resources that have been digitally preserved through the OCLC Digital Archive. The Digital Archive provides a long-term solution for the life cycle management of digital collections that is safe, reliable, and standards-based. A format protection service ensures continued access to collections as technology evolves. You can work with the OCLC Preservation Service Centers to prepare your content for digital storage or use OCLC tools to create metadata within your current workflow.

eSerials Holdings

Make your library's electronic serials collection more visible to your users and staff by adding your electronic serials holdings to WorldCat in an efficient and cost-effective way. Local Holdings Maintenance

WorldCat Cataloging Partners

WorldCat Cataloging Partners is a collaborative effort with materials vendors to reduce the cost of cataloging for libraries. WorldCat Cataloging Partners delivers OCLC MARC records that match the materials you order through participating vendor partners and sets your library's holdings automatically in WorldCat.
