This event has been cancelled.

Course Overview

OCLC’s WorldShare ILL system can accept requests patrons have created electronically in diverse external sources such as FirstSearch, which library staff can then finish processing both quickly and efficiently. This course covers how to implement patron-initiated resource sharing which, in turn, significantly reduces the time staff spends processing borrowing requests.

Audience

This course is intended for learners who have advanced familiarity with WorldShare ILL and features like Custom Holdings, and who desire to automate their borrowing workflow(s) further, thus making them more efficient and less staff intensive.

This course is also intended for libraries that have already implemented patron-initiated resource sharing but have a need to maintain it by training new resource sharing staff in how to use it.
