Custom Holdings on WorldShare ILL

At the end of this session, attendees will know how to set up, maintain, and use custom holdings in WorldShare ILL (WSILL). This will give them the benefit of partially-automating their borrowing workflow, which gives them the further benefits of reducing the time they spend creating borrowing requests, significantly increasing the quality of the requests, and enabling them to process a higher volume of requests in less time.

Course Overview

Custom Holdings allows OCLC’s WorldShare ILL (WSILL) system to quickly and automatically identify potential lenders and route requests based on your library’s preferred lenders.  Implementation of the custom holdings function also significantly reduces the time you spend processing borrowing requests.

Audience

This course is intended for learners who have a basic familiarity with WorldShare ILL but who desire to automate their borrowing workflow, thus making it more efficient and less staff intensive.

It is also intended for libraries that have already implemented custom holdings but have a need to maintain it by training new resource sharing staff in how to use it.
