(Recording) Custom Holdings on WorldCat Resource Sharing

Course overview

Custom Holdings allows OCLC’s WorldCat Resource Sharing (WCRS) system to quickly and automatically identify potential lenders and route requests based on your library’s preferred lenders. Implementation of the custom holdings function also significantly reduces the time you spend processing borrowing requests.

This course is intended for learners who have a basic familiarity with WorldCat Resource Sharing (WCRS) but who desire to automate their borrowing workflow, thus making it more efficient and less staff intensive. It is also intended for libraries that have already implemented custom holdings but have a need to maintain it by training new resource sharing staff in how to use it.

How to use this self-paced course

OCLC's self-paced training recordings are a useful tool for understanding the functionality our products when you want the in-depth learning of an instructor-led course, but your schedule won't permit you to attend. They are also great as refreshers of past training or as preparation for upcoming instructor-led courses. They can help you learn a new service, teach a new staff member how to use a service, or simply help you confirm your understanding of the service, without the time commitment of attanding a live course.

Note: Free registration is required prior to viewing this course to track usage and site performance.
