Expanding on what was learned in Assigning LC Call Numbers: Intermediate, this class will teach users how to assign call numbers using 2 cutters. (3 days/ 2-hour session per day)

This second session in the Introduction series will focus learning about MARC (MAchine-Readable Cataloging)--what it is, what it looks like, and how it works.

This third session in the Introduction series will focus on discussing the key differences in cataloging vocabulary and workflows brought about by the new cataloging standard--RDA (Resource Description and Access).

This session begins by covering some basic cataloging concepts and processes, followed by a demonstration and discussion of how to describe and catalog our most numerous resource--books. Our hands-on, in-person workshop will be taught from an RDA-friendly perspective.

This first session in the Serials series will give an overview to serials cataloging. We will describe the vocabulary and resources you need to get started.

This second session in the Serials series will focus on the key MARC fields frequently used in serials cataloging.

This third session in the Serials series will focus on the key changes that the new cataloging standard, RDA (Resource Description and Access), brings to serials cataloging considerations.

This session will focus on the issues, fields, and elements to be considered when cataloging periodicals. Please note that we will cover both physical and electronic serials records.
