The following list describes what counts and does not count as a keyword search when searching WorldCat:
Counts as a keyword search:
- Entering search keys that result in no matches and the "HELP, REVISE, RETURN" prompt; revising searches by selecting REVISE from this prompt.
- Entering search keys that result in an error stating that more than 1,500 matches were retrieved, and the "HELP, REVISE, RETURN" prompt; revising searches by selecting REVISE from this prompt.
- Revising searches using the Revise command.
- Choosing Revise or Repeat from Connexion browser Search History.
- Entering or revising search keys from saved searches in Connexion client.
- Re-displaying the results of a previous search using the "search history" capability.
- Entering a keyword search using a term containing character masking that matches to more than 300 unique terms (e.g., FIN ST ENG?) which results in the error "Character masking of term results in too many matching terms."
Does not count as a keyword search:
- Retrieving individual records from multiple record displays or from moving around within the multiple record display including using the "goback" command or Search Results in Connexion and selecting additional records.
- Entering search keys that result in query errors such as "Invalid Operator Entered ["NOT"]."
- Entering search keys that result in the error "Keyword searching is not available at this time."
- Re-displaying records or lists by choosing "Search Results" in Connexion browser.
- Re-displaying records or lists by closing an open record/list or moving to the next window (<Ctrl><F6> or <Ctrl><Tab>) in Connexion client.
