Best practices for creating shareable metadata
This document, "Best practices for CONTENTdm and other OAI-PMH compliant repositories: creating shareable metadata," is a result of a collaborative effort that began with the CONTENTdm Metadata Working Group. This evolving group, which now includes repository administrators from the broader OAI community, is open and growing. The group developed, optimized and standardized Qualified Dublin Core metadata element sets to increase discoverability in the local environment, as well as across open access repositories such as worldcat.org, into which their metadata is harvested according to OAI-PMH.
