3.5 Monitoring Direct-to-Profile ProcessingOverviewYou can monitor the processing of patron-generated requests using 3 features of OCLC ILL:
Direct Produced (dr:) categoryThis OCLC ILL Message File category lists all requests you successfully forwarded through ILL Direct Request processing during the past 4 system days. It appears as the first category in the ILL Message File Summary Display. History (h) commandThe History (h) command displays detailed information about an ILL request processed by ILL Direct Request. This information allows you to investigate why a Direct-to-Profile request was or was not successfully processed. Issuing the History commandThe syntax of the History (h) command is: h [parameter]. ParametersEach parameter you include in the command string provides specific information about the request. The following table summarizes the parameters:
No history display availableIf no History items exist for a particular request, the system displays the message: No history found. If information specific to the parameters you indicate is not available, the system displays the message: History item not found. History listThe History list is a menu of available History displays for a particular ILL request or Review File record, including:
History information only applies to a request if the processing option specified in the request was Direct-to-Profile and the request was successfully matched to bibliographic record. Example: History displayHere is an example of the History list:
Profile Elements in the RequestThis display is available for Direct-to-Profile requests that successfully matched a bibliographic record. It shows the values of the request's profile elements relevant to matching. From this display you may be able to quickly determine why a request did not find a matching profile. The display includes only elements present in the request and only their original values. ILL request or Review File record has no effect on the display. Profile Matching ResultsThis display is available for Direct-to-Profile requests that successfully matched a bibliographic record. It lists all your profiles and indicates which, if any, matched the request. The display makes it easier to investigate why a request did or did not match. The top half of the display lists profile elements from the request. If a profile element is not present in the request, only its label displays. The bottom half of the display:
The display only includes elements present in the current version of the profile. Editing an ILL request does not affect the matching results in the display. Editing a profile affects the matching results. Select a line from the Profile matching Results to view a Profile Matching Record display. Original Bibliographic DataThis History display lists the original bibliographic data from the request. It allows you to identify the correct bibliographic item in case Direct Request found the wrong one, for example, the request contained an incorrect ISBN, resulting in a Direct Request workform for the wrong title. This type of problem is difficult to correct without the original bibliographic data from the request. Original Bibliographic Data display elementsThis display can contain the following elements:
