SISIS SunRise SMS™
With SISIS SunRise SMS, you have access to two types of information formats:
- User messages for received reservation requests
- Advance reminders for due books issued several days before the end of the loan period
These messages, with a maximum of 160 characters per message, are generated automatically by SISIS SunRise during the course of the day, and quickly sent to the mobile phone of the library user by your text message provider. Each send operation is logged and can be checked at a later time.
- You can set parameters to adapt SISIS SunRise SMS to the requirements of your library.
- Authorize your branch library for text message service.
- Modify standard text for reservations and due dates.
- Display text message subjects.
- Bibliographic information can be displayed with variable structures (e.g., author, title and call number)
- Text message fee charges display on the user account.
The Dresden Public Libraries, along with many other libraries, have offered this innovative service to their users since August 2001. Started as a project of the Medien@age, the new Dresden Youth Library, this project has become an added benefit for all who choose to use it. On average, 2400 messages per month are sent quickly and economically to more than 1300 current saved addresses.
The Dresden Public Libraries report: "The people who use it are very impressed!"
Together with the additional component, SISIS SunRise Mail, which can send letters and messages by e-mail just as efficiently, your library has the entire range of Internet communications technology at its disposal.
