Future enhancements to WorldCat Selection service

Materials vendor partners  (Expected: 03 2008)

  • OCLC is continually adding new vendor partners. We are currently in the process of adding China National Publishing Industry Trading Corporation, East View Information Services, Erasmus Boekhandle BV, Iberbook Sánchez-Cuesta, Leila Books, S.A., Librairie Erasmus, Puvill Libros, and YBP Library Services. Future enhancements not yet scheduled

Import records from WorldCat

  • Selectors will be able to enter one or multiple WorldCat control numbers to import records from WorldCat to their Inbox.  As with records from other sources, selectors will be able to take actions such as Select, Reject, Forward, or Defer on imported records.

Automatically delete records

  • Administrators will be able to define the number of days to retain notification records in each folder.  After a record remains in the folder for the specified number of days, the system will automatically delete it.  Currently all records are retained for 365 days except records in the Rejected folder, which are retained for 14 days. 

E-mail notification records

  • Selectors will be able to e-mail notification records to faculty or other staff members to request input on the selection decision.

Search notification records

  • Selectors will be able to search notification records by source, title, status, defer reason, and more to limit results to a specific set of records. Or, continue to view all records in each folder which can be sorted by clicking column headings.

Usage statistics

  • Library staff will be able to view usage statistics detailing system actions such as select, reject, and export separated by each user's authorization number.
