that are used for the identification of information assets.
The
Terminology Services Project
has registered the
kos
namespace, for use by OCLC Research, for
knowledge organization schemes (kos)
used by libraries, museums, archives,
historical societies, professional associations,
and other communities.

pending approval by the info URI registrar.
Description:

The kos identifier provides a mechanism for identifying
knowledge organization schemes
and the concepts used in those schemes.
The kos identifier has two elements:
The scheme element identifies the knowledge organization scheme being used
and the concept element identifies a concept within a given scheme.

The syntax for the scheme and concept identifiers:

in the identifier is required
and used to identify
a given knowledge organization scheme.

in the identifier is optional
and specifies the edition name,
edition number, or the publication date
of the knowledge organization scheme.

here.

«lang»
in the identifier is optional
and specifies the language
of the intended audience
for the knowledge organization scheme.

in the identifier is required
and specifies the unique identifier
assigned to a concept by the creator,
publisher, or maintainer
of the knowledge organization scheme.
