I am currently working on the Faceted Application of Subject Terminology (FAST) project, specifically developing a file of authorized Geographic Headings. The object of the FAST project is to develop a new subject heading schema based on LCSH which is suitable for metadata, yet easier than LCSH to use, understand and maintain. The first phase of FAST will result in an initial file of Topical, Geographic and Form headings.
I also work with the ILL research team to monitor ILL usage and analyze trends in ILL activity. Our latest research looked at the relationship between the frequency of ILL requests and the publication date of the periodical.
Prior to transferring to OCLC Research I worked in OCLC's Development Division as part of the CORC development team, as part of the Arabic Cataloging development team and as part of the Authority Control Service development team.
