In this presentation, Senior Program Officer Titia van der Werf describes ISNI (International Standard Name Identifier) and the organizational and service infrastructure behind it, as well as OCLC's role as the ISNI database administrator and assignment agent. In addition, Titia highlights OCLC's entity metadata modeling work to show how OCLC can provide added value to ISNI, and conversely, how ISNI as an identifier hub can provide added value to linked data initiatives. She also points to future directions for research information data in the semantic web.

Titia gave this presentation at the euroCRIS Barcelona Strategic Membership Meeting on 11 November 2015. euroCRIS is a not-for-profit association with offices in The Hague, The Netherlands, that brings together experts on research information in general and research information systems (CRIS) in particular. The organisation has 200+ members, mainly coming from Europe, but also from some countries outside of Europe.
